GXD collects and integrates the gene expression information in MGI. Its primary emphasis is on endogenous gene expression during mouse development. Antibody summaries are now available in the Molecular Reagents section of gene detail pages and in the Curated Data section of reference detail pages. GXD is a long-standing, freely available community resource that collects and integrates mouse gene expression data generated by biomedical researchers worldwide. Our primary emphasis is on endogenous gene expression during development, covering data from wild-type and mutant mice. GXD is available through the Mouse Genome Informatics web site (http://www.informatics.jax.org/), which provides integrated access to data from GXD and the Mouse Genome Database (MGD) 6,7 thus enabling a direct correlation of genotype, expression and phenotype information for the laboratory mouse. GXD stores and integrates different types of expression data and makes these data freely available in formats appropriate for comprehensive analysis. There is particular emphasis on endogenous gene expression during mouse development. Since its first release in 1998, GXD has served the scientific community by integrating multiple types of expression data from publications and electronic submissions and by making these data freely and widely available.
