maalox or mylanta for ulcer
The list of gluten-free over-the-counter gastrointestinal medications includes Effervescent Alka Seltzer Plus, Gas X, Extra Strength with Maalox, Imodium, Lactaid, Maalox, Mylanta, Pepcid, Pepto Bismal, Philips Original Milk of Mangesia, Prilosec and Tums (Ultra, Regular and EX). So since im going to be away from home i thought id go prepared. Im not 100% sure on maalox being gluten-free but i have confirmed mylanta and pepto. Now the dilema is which one is best at fighting our friendly symptoms if they occur?? Maalox and Mylanta both help with heartburn, but they can have different ingredients. Both can be found in liquid and tablet forms and work quickly to relieve symptoms. They might cause common side ... I called Novartis Consumer the other day and they informed me that Gas X and Gas X with Maalox were gluten free. I also saw this statement on my Clan Thompson site - I was pretty surprised as last I heard they were not gluten free..... So two sources, Novartis Consumer the manufacturer and Clan T... Does anyone happen to know if the Maalox Multi-symptom is gluten-free or not? I've seen older posts from 05/06 stating Maalox is a no-no...but nothing recent and this type of Maalox was not around then. Any info would be appreciated! Thank you, Ehrin
